The LEMAC Board oversees the conduct of the business and management of LEMAC. The LEMAC office staff is responsible for the day-to-day conduct of business. The key responsibilities of the Board are:
Developing an association strategy
Risk assessment and management
Developing internal controls
Financial and operational reporting and review
Succession planning and development
Establishing a communications policy

MARGARET DABREO – DUNN
President
Margaret has over eighteen years energy asset management experience working as a Sr. Contracts Analyst. Margaret started her oil & gas career at Standard Land and progressed as a Mineral Contracts Analyst through roles at Samson Canada, Husky Operations and Ovintiv Canada.

Margaret is passionate about learning and sharing knowledge within and across teams. Her Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) from Simon Fraser University, is enhanced by an MBA (University of Phoenix), Petroleum Land and Contract Certifications from both SAIT and Mount Royal and recent studies in Privacy Legislation at U of A. Since joining CAPLA in 2004 Margaret has been an active and committed supporter of the association, completing her Certified Petroleum Land Contracts Certificate (CPLCA) and volunteering with the Association, as co-chair of the Mineral Education Committee since 2014.

ANDREA JANSKA
Vice President
Andrea Janska is an experienced professional with over 20 years in the industry. Starting her career by scanning files, she later earned her Petroleum Land Administration Certificate from SAIT and holds an Alberta Land Agent Licence.

Currently, she is the Manager, Surface Land at Veren Inc., demonstrating exceptional management skills in surface land operations, acquisitions, and divestitures. In her current role, she also oversees the Indigenous Relations Team and ensures regulatory compliance for Surface Land. Andrea has been instrumental in developing and staying current with Surface A&D, including teaching the Surface A&D Course at CAPL. Andrea is passionate about helping others through their career and staying current with the ever-changing regulations in our Industry. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and getting out to the great outdoors as much as she can.

RANDON SLANEY
Past-President
Randon is Legal Counsel at ENMAX and focuses on corporate and commercial transactions. This includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, developing large-scale projects, setting up joint ventures and general contractual matters.

He has also completed a secondment with a large Canadian oil and gas company, providing him with valuable experience in considering issues from the perspective of business teams. In his free time, Randon enjoys chess and backcountry camping.

JEFF BRYKSA
Treasurer
Jeff’s career has been working on the mineral side of land for 19 years in various Oil and Gas Exploration companies. He started his first position as a Mineral Land Administrator and progressed to a Team Lead position.

Jeff received his Foundational Land certificate from SAIT and his Advanced Land certificate from Mount Royal University. He also holds a Leadership certificate through SAIT. Jeff has been an active member of CAPLA since 2003 and has participated in numerous volunteer roles throughout the association.

TRACEY STOCK
Secretary
Tracey has more than 45 years of experience in the energy sector and has been a CAPLA member since 1995. He is a lawyer, landman, professional engineer, qualified mediator, and chartered manager actively consulting in oil and gas.

He also serves part-time as an AER Hearing Commissioner and APEGA president. His background includes leadership in land administration, A&D, negotiations, land systems and conversions, corporate, commercial, survey, and construction law, arbitration, GIS, reservoir engineering, and economic evaluations. He teaches surface and mineral A&D administration for CAPL, business law for APEGA, and contract drafting, ethics and professionalism, practice management, and client relations management for the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education.
Evenings often find Tracey teaching business law and land administration at Mount Royal University or volunteering legal advice for clients at Calgary Legal Guidance. He has taught intellectual property law and information systems management in the MBA program and survey law for the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. In 2013 he received CAPLA’s Outstanding Volunteer Award and in 2017 he received the Summit Award for Community Service from APEGA and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers from the Governor General of Canada, and in 2019 he received the Distinguished Service Award for Pro Bono Legal Services from the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of Alberta.
Tracey has served on the Board of Directors since 2012 including terms as treasurer, vice-president, and president. Previously, was a member of the Surface Land Administration Advisory Committee, chaired the A&D Subcommittee of the Education Development Committee, was a panel member at the 2011 Surface Land Summit, and a speaker at several CAPLA conferences. He has also been a guest speaker with the CAPLA Lunch ‘n Learn program and the CAPLA Leadership Breakfast series. His articles have been published in NEXUS and The Negotiator.

ESMERALDA LEMONSON

With 14 years of experience in energy asset management, Esmeralda is a Land Asset Management Analyst and a committed CAPLA member and volunteer since 2011.

Her expertise spans A&D, royalty analyst and land data analytics, and she provides pivotal strategic insights for upstream operations, joint ventures, production optimization, and asset retirement obligations (ARO) for her clients.
Esmeralda’s commitment to excellence is demonstrated by her recent achievement in the Business Intelligence and Analytics Program from the University of Calgary, complemented by a Land Administration Certificate and an Upstream Petroleum Certificate of Achievement from SAIT. Her educational journey also includes the Land Business Program from Mount Royal University, highlighting her dual expertise in Asset Management and Business Intelligence.
As a data advocate, Esmeralda has delivered impactful presentations on the value of Predictive Analytics in the Energy Asset Management industry at events like YYC Data Society, Women in Data, and CAPLA. She has also made significant contributions as a judge for the SAIT Energy Asset Management Capstone program for two consecutive years. Her active roles with CAPLA include serving as co-chair of the Member Services Committee, co-chair of the Awards Committee, and as a member of the Mineral Education Committee.
Her career trajectory includes pivotal roles at InPlay Oil, Cenovus Energy, PrairieSky Royalty, BTG Energy, and Pembina Corporation. At Pembina, she gained valuable experience as a Contracts Coordinator on a groundbreaking $4.5 billion petrochemical megaproject, where she navigated complex commercial agreements, significantly enhancing her exposure to international contract management.
Esmeralda is passionate about elevating her profession and driving industry development through continuous improvement and leveraging her expertise in Asset Management and Business Intelligence to shape the future of energy asset management.

JENNIE INNENDORFER
Director
Jennie began her Surface Land career in the mid-90’s from the ground up, when paper land sale bids were run manually into the ERCB office by sale deadlines.

Since that time she has become an accomplished Surface Land professional with experience spanning Capital acquisition and Operational asset management including Crown and Freehold, project management, mentorship, and leadership.
She has encompassed the roles of Surface Land Analyst, Surface Land Co-ordinator, Subject Matter Expert, and Specialist, and has taught Land 101: Introduction to Land at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
Her particular Surface Land passions are the post-acquisition disciplines, and she is one of those analysts who especially enjoys leaving no stone unturned in title and legacy analysis and the historical record. She has extensive experience in road use and third party management, and most recently has contributed her expertise as a member of the CAPLA Road Use Task Force and the pending 2024 Master Road Use Agreement.
Jennie is currently a Sr. Surface Land Analyst at ORLEN Upstream Canada Ltd. Headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, she loves talking with the Warsaw transplants to Canada about European history and shared old-world family experience. Outside of office hours, she is a volunteer Gallery Attendant and Docent at Esker Foundation, a contemporary art space in Inglewood, Calgary.
Jennie is excited about this new role as a member of the CAPLA/LEMAC Board of Directors, and she is thrilled at the prospect of helping to bring the newly rebranded organization into the forefront of a landscape encompassing all forms of Canadian energy production.

CARRIE WALKER
Director
Carrie Walker brings over 25 years of expertise in the petroleum industry to her role as Supervisor of Operations and Surface Land Administration at NuVista Energy Ltd., where she has been a key leader for more than 18 years. With a strong background in project management, Carrie has successfully implemented regulatory compliance tracking and reporting programs and has a proven track record of mentoring high-performing teams to enhance compliance and streamline land acquisition processes.
